MEET TORI FROM THE HERITAGE HOMEMAKER
Easy recipes from scratch, sewing and DIY, natural and simple living.

Hi, I’m Tori!
It’s so nice to meet you!
Here on my blog, The Heritage Homemaker, you will find easy and wholesome recipes, simple sewing tutorials and home projects, as well as inspiration for living a natural and simple life.
My husband, Zachary, and I moved into our home on a few acres of land in 2019. Shortly after moving in, our first son was born. We live on a piece of the same farm land where I grew up. It has been in my family for several generations. It has always been a dream of mine to raise a family here and carry on the heritage of a more traditional way of living. We now have 3 children, 2 boys and a girl, and I am beyond grateful to be living out that dream.
On our property we raise chickens, have 2 mini goats, a dog and a cat. We grow a large garden each year with vegetables and a variety of flowers. Around the border of the garden we have peach and apple trees. We love calling this little hobby farm our home!
My hope for this blog is that it would encourage you to make simple, nutritious food and inspire you on your own journey to a more simple home and way of life.

About Me
I was born and raised in a rural town in coastal North Carolina where I was homeschooled through 8th grade, then attended public high school. I briefly lived in the city of Wilmington to attend UNCW, but moved back home as quickly as possible and commuted while I finished school. It is very safe to say that I prefer the country over the city.
My first job ever was at a local bakery where I worked on and off for 10+ years! During my time working there, I learned a lot about baking and business management.
I would much rather take the time to make something for our home than buy it. I’ve sewn all of the curtains in our home and the majority of our throw pillows. If you look in my kitchen, you will find kitchen towels, pot holders, aprons, jar covers and more that I have sewn.
Although now I wouldn’t want a job away from the home, my hopes while in school were to become a nutritionist. I’ve always had a passion for health and nutrition education.
